Description

THE MODERN NARRATIVE of progress has cast an impenetrable fog over our understanding of the World of Islam. The central proposition of this book is that by adopting the mīzān perspective, the fog clears and the World of Islam in all its glory is revealed.

The book shows how the World of Islam consisted of a framework that supported a sacred way of life that was in complete harmony with the creation, and this way of life was the perfection of mīzān. The framework supporting this way of life was universal, covering and connecting the civilizations and cultures of Afro-Eurasia. The only way this framework could be destroyed was if an external force breached the mīzān. What happened when the mīzān was breached is the subject of this book.

Ahmed Paul Keeler is the author of Rethinking Islam & The West: A New Narrative for The Age of CrisesA Life’s Journey: The Story behind a Book, and Gazan Awakening. A Visiting Fellow at the Centre of Islamic Studies, University of Cambridge from 2014 to 2023, Keeler is currently a Professorial Research Associate at the Centre of Islamic Studies, SOAS, University of London.
